Here’s the first rays of our sun on Pikes Peak. On a cold winter day from my old studio window. It’s hard to describe just how warm this feels on a morning when the temperature  is below freezing. I ask around town to see if anyone notices this amazing lighting event but unfortunately most are too busy getting to work. I live in a different world than most, I get to stop and watch the show.

This is beautiful. It reminds me of the time I was traveling to Denver for business. I had made plans to meet some friends in Aspen afterward to hike the Maroon Belles. This was before Aspen became such a hot spot. I had plenty of time and being of a curious nature, decided to explore the countryside. Time just slipped away and I found myself in Leadville after dark. Leadville was closed up for the night and no place to stay. So I decided to find a place to camp. It was a restless night as I was alone in a strange place. I awoke early the next morning and just sat there in wonder as “this amazing lighting event” happened. It was the ecstasy of lovemaking with no mortal touching me. I will always remember that morning.

So enjoy your mornings. You are blessed.

Oh and the other thing that happened, was that I inadvertently had taken up residence in the home of the largest jack rabbits I have ever seen. There were dozens of them. They were not afraid of me and seemed indignant that I was there. So I made haste to leave.

there’s a special energy here in colorado, as you can see by the rabbits. there are things that happen in our sky that words cannot touch, they can only experienced.

i am not only blessed but lucky as a rabbit, according to the Chinese zodiac, being born in 63.

yo, Leadville is a whole nother world. you know there’s not a lot of oxygen up there, which only adds to the lighting effect and that bit of ecstasy.

    hi derek

Yes Colorado is a beautiful place. Methinks it suits you well or you it. Boulder is a very forward thinking township. I understand it is the first US city to adopt the transitional town concept.

Don’t laugh, but every time I am in Colorado I feel as if I have lived there in another lifetime, maybe as a native American or something. :)

      hey bonnie

I felt the same way the first time I came to Colorado. Like coming home, but then I kinda feel that way everywhere I go. I musta got around back in my former lives.

Just outside of Boulder is Eldorado Canyon, a friend lives there. The Eldorado river runs through the canyon and right through her back yard, I sit there in timeleness every now and then. Boulder is very cool but has just a little too much human energy for me, it tends to frazzle me a bit.

Awesome picture. I wish I could post the pics I have when I lived in Alaska. Got some good morning light ones and awesome northern light ones.

Hi Cat, thanks for stopping by. I can imagine that the first light in Alaska would be breathtaking and the northern lights, otherworldly. If you ever figure out how to post them let me know.
